Project Overview
This project was completed just in the nick of time. The floor joists beneath this condominium were severely rotted and infested with termites, leaving them crumbling and unsafe. The main beam was so compromised that the support had cut into it, causing a lengthwise crack. Using pump jacks and sledgehammers, we replaced the load-bearing beam and sistered all floor joists, restoring full structural integrity and safety.
The scope of damage required immediate action to prevent structural failure. Our team worked carefully in the confined crawlspace to remove the compromised beam and install a new load-bearing beam while maintaining the structural stability of the building above.
Every floor joist was sistered with new lumber, effectively doubling the structural support and eliminating any weakened areas. The result is a completely sound and safe floor system that will serve the homeowners for decades to come.
