Project Overview
This deck was in urgent need of rehabilitation. During demolition, additional structural issues were discovered: the footings supporting the deck, including those under the adjacent addition, were crumbling and unstable. After excavating and pouring new footings, we consulted with an engineer and replaced the main beam supporting the addition. The deck was then fully framed and finished with PVC, composite decking, and vinyl railings, resulting in a durable, weather-resistant structure with a clean, "picture-frame" aesthetic.
The discovery of failing footings required immediate attention and engineering consultation to ensure the safety of both the deck and the adjacent home addition. Our team worked methodically to address each structural concern while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding structures.
The final result is not only structurally sound but also visually stunning, with the picture-frame border detail adding a custom, high-end appearance to the deck. The use of premium PVC and composite materials ensures decades of maintenance-free enjoyment.
